UGANDA
The lush and fertile country of Uganda was called “The Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill. It is slightly smaller in physical size that our home state of Oregon. But the population of Uganda is over 31 million! Oregon by contrast has a population of 3.8 million.
60% of Uganda’s people are Christian. And the average Ugandan lives on less than $1 (US) a day. English is one of their official languages. A sad statistic is that 1 million children under the age of 15 have lost one or both parents to AIDS.
Our team of 8 will be traveling to Uganda from Sept. 15th - 28th. We are very excited about going and are looking forward to what God has in store for us. We hope to learn about the culture of Uganda, and in particular meet the pastor, leaders and people of Kachungwa, the village where over 100 children are being sponsored by members of our church family. We would love for you to pray for us and for the people we will be meeting in Uganda. We will be in a time zone that is 10 hours ahead of Oregon and in a tropical climate near the equator. Thank you to everyone who has donated to make this trip possible. All our funding needs have been met!
Thank you so much for being a part of the team, by sending us and praying for us!
